Maine’s celebration of world premiere scripts by local playwrights celebrates its 20th season. The 2-week festival involves over 40 Maine-based theater artists and includes full performances of the six featured plays, staged readings, and more!

MPF High School Playwriting Showcase
When: Sunday, May 22, 2022 – 3:00PM
Where: Freeport Performing Arts Center (30 Holbrook Street, Freeport, ME)
Join us for an afternoon of staged readings of short plays written and performed by Maine High School students!
Student-written plays from Bangor High School, Freeport High School, and Scarborough High School will be performed. Maine Playwrights Festival held playwriting workshops at these three schools this spring. The plays performed in the showcase were written by students taking part in the workshops and mentored by Maine-based professional playwrights and dramaturgs.
All tickets available at the door. This event is FREE for all patrons.
